My Approach as a Teacher

I love to teach. I work with students of all ages and abilities. In recent years I taught group classes, coached sectionals, and presented masterclasses for cello and chamber music.  My teaching style is unique to who I am as a performer; constantly evolving to meet the needs of my students, it is the result of years of study both of performance and pedagogy.

While there are universal concepts in teaching, there are not universal approaches. Each student is unique and I vary my approach for each one.  I am patient with my students because everyone learns at a different pace and in a different way.

I am passionate about the importance of music in my students’ everyday lives.  Music can be an outlet for creativity, imagination, self-expression, and much more.

In addition to teaching a private studio, I am currently on faculty at the Bronx House School of Performing Arts.

I am a member of the American String Teachers Association.
